Western Power is still finalising the civil designs and overall site footprint. Unfortunately, it looks like it will need to revert to DWER for approval as the site determined for the location of the generator is within an already‑cleared area however it will impact some degraded vegetation. The approval process can take some time.
In terms of physical construction, Western Power is currently forecasting commencement in Q4 2026, subject to the required approvals being in place.
