The Shire

The Shire of Lake Grace is situated in the South-East of Western Australia and is one of the largest agricultural Shires in the State. The shire stretches from Tarin Rock in the west to Hatters Hill in the east with this area showcasing the natural shallow salt lakes - crystal white or beautiful shades of pink, green, tan and mauve and provides an authentic taste of the outback. The lakes, rimmed by echidna and tall paperbark shrubs, host a unique range of flora and fauna just waiting to be explored.

 

The Role

This senior management position promises to be a challenging and rewarding role for the successful applicant. Reporting directly to the CEO, the ideal candidate will be required to provide a high level of management support to the CEO taking on a diverse range of responsibilities whilst also providing strong leadership and people management to the Council and Shire staff. This includes all aspects of financial management, Community development, Health Safety & Environment, Council support and Administration and organisation development.

 

The Requirements

 

The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills and display a strong presence in the community, where you will understand the challenges of living in a regional area, while still delivering on the Shires Vision, Strategic and Corporate Plans to ensure its continued success. Recent experience in a similar position will be well regarded and should be outlined in your Resume.

Remuneration

This position is offered on a performance-based fixed term contract of between 3 to 5 years with a total remuneration package of $174,375 per annum. The package includes a base salary, superannuation, motor vehicle, housing, relocation costs, 4 weeks leave with professional development being strongly supported by the Shire and is open to negotiation.
