Lake Grace Cemetery Restoration Project
Do you know of someone buried in Lake Grace cemetery? The Shire of Lake Grace has received a Lotterywest grant to improve the Lake Grace Cemetery. The project will include installing simple grave markers, as shown in the example belowt, on the unmarked graves of people buried before 1998.
The etched granite markers (grey with black lettering) will state the person’s name and date of burial and be placed at the relevant grave site. We have obtained the information from the Shire cemetery records.
If you have other plans for a family member’s gravesite or know of former residents whose family gravesite is unmarked, please contact Michelle Slarke or Lee-Anne Trevenen at the Shire office (9890 2500 or shire@lakegrace.wa.gov.au )
Some of the older records have limited detail (see *marked entries below). If you can fill in any of the missing details, if any of the names are mis-spelt or incorrect please contact us. The list is also posted on the shire website (www.lakegrace.wa.gov.au).
Please forward any information to the Shire before 31st October 2008.
We will then order grave markers for all those listed, unless a family requests otherwise.
